My Class Hike

On Friday, the 22^nd January, everyone in school went to class hike, of course I went to class hike too, I thought it looks like really difficult. The weather was a little sunny and windy. 1) We hike up the mountain. 2) Finally we arrived on the top of the mountain. 3) The whole class hike down the mountain. I thought it was the first time because I never tried this hard thing before.

I was excited at the beginning. We got out the bus and it was cold but there didn’t have any snow. Wait for everyone got off the bus; we hike up the trail of the mountain. The trail was a little scary and dangerous, on the way to hike up it is terrible. I almost fell down, and I fell down, it was really hurt. We walk for a long time, and it was tiring. I am very tired and my feet hurt, but I need to keep walking.

        Finally we arrived to the top of the mountain. We had a great time. I had a lot of fun with my nice friend. We hike up and there is a wonderful view. I sit down with my friend, and took out our sack lunch. The lunch is really delicious; I enjoy the turkey and cheese sandwich. We finish our lunch and took a break. We can pee in the bushes. I talked to my friend, and Yukimi was sleeping on the top of the mountain. I was trying to do the same thing as her, but it was really hard. And then we hike down the mountain.

        Hike down the mountain was fun and easier. I was walking with my friend while we walk down. I talked about how interesting and awesome is our school life. I drank a lot of water when I walked back. My feet are really hurt, because the hike is too difficult for me. I am not feeling really good, so I was hiking at the end of the line. I was very happy when the teacher said “we are almost there!” It was a tired but fantastic hike I ever have with my classmate!

My Camping Trip

   If we don’t have camping, we’ll never learn about how to live without our house! Many people have no chance to camping. Have you ever been camping? Do you like camping? The OVS administrators are going to cancel the camping trip, but I disagree with this decision because we should learn more things in camping trip. For example, I can learn how to river raft, how to cook, and how to take care myself.

  

  First, in our camping trip, I learn many things. I learn about how to river raft and how to work together. I carried the big boat with everyone and I became stronger because I know how to work with my teammate. River raft is really fun and sometimes are difficult, but even it’s difficult, we learn how to river raft from our teacher. Every time we finished the river raft, we always carried the big, heavy boat together with our teammate. We were excited and had a lot of fun on river rafting.

 

  Second, I learned how to cook. Mrs. Cassidy taught us how to make a cheesecake. Also, we learn how to get fire without lighter. After we make a fire, we all sit around the fire and hang out with teammates and teachers. We talk about our name in Korea, China, and Russia. We all enjoyed about the cooking.

 

  And the most important thing was I learned how to take care myself. I learned how to dig a hole so we can poop in the hole. And when we were hiking, we can take care of each other too. Everyone have their buddy in our camping trip, we can help our buddies to put on their big backpack or check the ticks for them. I am glad that I learned how to take care myself!

 

  In conclusion, I think we should not cancel the Spring Backpack Camping trip. There are too many things we can’t learn or experience without going camping by ourselves. For example, we cannot go swimming in a natural swimming pool in classroom. Also, natural is a kind of feeling, or it is a kind of sense, which means you can only feel it when you are there, so, I do not agree with the decision which is to cancel the Spring Backpack Camping Trip.

  

  

poetry lesson

Last week, in the writing class, we learned about how to write poem. We learned about haiku, cinquain, diamante, free verse, I never learned it before so I am really interesting about poetry. We did the brain pop together and I’m really happy to do my work with two ESL teachers!

When I was doing my poem, the teacher help me a lot. That I learn about poetry last week. We also took a little quiz about the poetry, but it still fun. I hope that we can learn more things about poetry next time with two classes!
